Lake’s most popular road shoe, built for riders with broader feet. The CX239 Wide Fit gives you race-ready performance without squeezing the forefoot, so you stay comfortable and powerful on long rides.
Fit and stability
Built on Lake’s Competition last, the CX239 has extra room across the ball of the foot, letting your foot spread naturally under hard pedalling. A fibreglass-reinforced heel cup locks your heel in place, so the fit stays secure at high cadence and under full power. New for this model, an integrated tongue improves foot stability compared with the previous CX238.
Power transfer
The 100% carbon fibre sole is light and very stiff, so your effort goes into the pedals for sprints, climbs and fast accelerations out of corners. The 3-bolt sole is compatible with road cleats such as Shimano SPD-SL and Look Keo.
The Lake CX239 Wide Fit Road Shoes are available in two upper materials:
Leather: premium full-grain Ecco leather that is water-resistant and breathable (available in White/Black and Black).
Leather naturally moulds, stretches, and conforms to the shape of your feet over time.
Clarino microfibre: a lighter microfibre and mesh upper with an Outlast heel lining (available in White).
The Li2 BOA® dial closure works in both directions, letting you fine-tune the fit mid-ride.
The most important thing when buying cycling shoes is the fit. Ideally, they should fit like a tailored suit. The shoe's side walls should touch the sides of your foot without putting pressure on them, and they should offer as much coverage as possible. With just over 5mm of toe wiggle room, your feet can spread on a long day in the saddle.
If your cycling shoes are too wide or too long, your feet will slide around inside them as you pedal. This movement can cause discomfort such as hot spots, blisters, or general pain, as your foot is repeatedly pushed into different areas of the shoe.
That’s why we created this sizing tool, which shows the most accurate method we’ve found to measure your feet for cycling shoes and match you with the closest length, Width, and Model. Lake uses different Lasts (the mould the shoes are made on). This tool helps us find your best match.
USE OUR LAKE SHOE FIT TOOL TO HELP YOU FIND YOUR PERFECT FIT
It’s a simple thing to do that makes a big difference to your ride. All you need is a hardback book or block of wood and a tape measure.
Our measurement method differs from Lake's, which we’ve always had issues with regarding accuracy. There’s 6 mm between full sizes and 3mm between half sizes, so accurate measurements are key to getting the most out of your ride.
